Toy Story 5 Teaser Sets The Beloved Duo Against a Digital Device
It has been 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story film debuted, establishing Pixar as a leading film company and introducing viewers to iconic characters like the cowboy doll (Tom Hanks) and the space ranger (the voice talent), who are now household names.
In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 appeared this week, providing a glimpse into the storyline but keeping viewers wondering how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.
Bonnie's New Toy: A Digital Device Spooks the Gang
In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received Andy's toys when he left for college — receiving a latest toy, one that terrifies Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.
Presumably, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters appear to consider it as a threat intending to supplant them, which it likely will.
Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4
One thing the trailer avoids is what Woody is returned with his companions in Bonnie's room. The finale of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with Bo Peep (Annie Potts), journeying with a fair and assisting prize toys locate loving owners.
Certainly, Pixar will explain the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room without warning is a little strange, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with Woody. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?
Connections from the Previous Film
Fortunately, some aspects are continuing from the prior film. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his new life was pass his symbol of authority to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), entrusting her in charge of the toy domain. In the teaser shows the badge attached to her shirt.
It is hoped she is still the key figure among the group.
